Technical Pre-Sales Engineer: Media Infrastructure (Full-Time / remote position, US or Canada)

You will be working with a team delivering cutting-edge IP-based broadcast infrastructure projects.

You will guide and educate customers, partners, and internal stakeholders on emerging technologies and provide solutions transforming the M&E, Games, and Sports industries.

You will provide architectural guidance for real-life customer projects involving various LAWO and third-party products.

In this role, you will be a content creator, a storyteller, and a presenter, building and publishing content. You will share your expertise and insights with customers, both remotely and in person.

This role requires at least 30% travel, including international travel.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and capturing the customer requirements


  • Providing expert knowledge through technical consulting


  • Technical meetings, presentations, and product/system demonstrations.


  • Creating solutions around the customer's requirements


  • Generating RFI/RFP responses, scope of work documentation, and supporting risk review evaluations.


  • Technical representative for tradeshows.


  • Ensuring the provision of appropriate process documentation to support all parties within the project delivery cycle, leading to the successful design and delivery of LAWO solutions.


  • Work in close collaboration with sales, leading to successful design and delivery of Lawo solutions


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Networking/IT knowledge


  • Experience with broadcast environments, on-air broadcast operations, and IP (Internet Protocol) projects


  • Expertise in broadcast workflows


  • Passion for new technology


  • Structured way of working and problem-solving ability


  • Desire to deliver service excellence


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


  • Readiness for international travel and ability to work alone with little or no supervision


  • Passionate about learning new technologies


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical broadcast presale's environment or


  • 5+ years as a broadcast design engineer or


  • 5+ years as a system integrator


  • Must be fluent in English


  • Strong communication skills are a vital asset for this role


  • College degree in computer science, broadcast technology, or similar


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Should be able to configure a CISCO or Arista switch, at least on a fundamental level


  • Scripting/coding experiences


  • Knowledge of containerization concepts


  • Firm Linux knowledge


  • College degree in computer science, broadcast technology, or similar


  • Advanced knowledge of standards commonly used in the broadcast world (ST2110, PTP, AES67, SDI, AES (Audio Engineering Society), MADI, Ancillary data, Closed Captions, ...)
