JOB OVERVIEW
The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies that integrate various channels and tactics to drive brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue growth. The primary function of the DOM will be to work with a cross-functional, multi-project team to execute strategies that are high quality, innovative, on-brand, and on-budget. This role will support and collaborate with internal stakeholders (design, operations, sales, HR, and others), property leadership, and New Waterloo's creative partners.
The DOM must demonstrate strong self-management and self-leadership skills, anticipating the needs of stakeholders, proactively addressing gaps and shortfalls in budgets, and continually evolving marketing practices to remain relevant and drive results. This role is responsible for running an internal agency dedicated to nurturing the development of their team and partnerships with other departments to ensure marketing strategies support the needs and goals of all revenue producing areas.

What you'll do:
- Create, develop and recommend short and long-term marketing planning guidelines and procedures and annual budgets that are aligned with organizational goals
- Plan, execute, and oversee marketing campaigns across various channels including digital, print, social media, and events. Ensure campaigns are high quality, innovative, on-brand and on-budget
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate marketing efforts. Coordinate activities such as advertising, content marketing, email marketing, social media, and public relations
- Work cross-functionally with teams on the ground to develop authentic storytelling practices, partnering to develop content that highlights the outlet's brand and commitments
- Write compelling ad copy that drives customer engagement and conversions
- Execute and oversee all pre-opening aspects of new projects and perform duties to support the effective opening of new outlets
- Develop a strong understanding of financial statements and actively manage financial goals and targets. Ensure effective allocation of resources, track expenditures and provide regular financial reporting
- Work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure integrated marketing efforts that help achieve and exceed established revenue goals and support overall business operations
- Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team. Create and support a cooperative and collaborative work environment by setting objectives, providing feedback, and supporting professional development
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics. Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and adjust strategies as needed to achieve key performance indicators
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of marketing projects. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure the successful completion of initiatives
- Analyze consumer behavior and preferences to identify new opportunities and refine targeting strategies
- Conduct surveys, focus groups, and analyze data to gain insights into consumer needs and preferences
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities and threats. Utilize insights to guide marketing strategies and make data-driven decisions
- Provide routine updates to executive leadership teams regarding the performance of assigned projects
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing marketing efforts (e.g. SPAM, GDPR, private customer information)
- Communicate and interact with all employees, guests, vendors, investors, and New Waterloo team members with courtesy, dignity, and respect while maintaining a consistent professional demeanor

- You have experience working within a project management platform like Monday.com.
