Agricorp is looking for a Team Leader, Communications to join the Strategic Management & Communications team.

The Role

The Team Leader, Communications, provides supervision and leadership to a group of communications professionals to ensure productive and coordinated performance as they achieve their business objectives. This includes proactive and professional leadership within the team to recommend and execute work plans, and implement programs and initiatives as directed by the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications. In this role, you will be responsible to:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, training and performance reviews for team of communication specialists and consultants
  • Ensure that the team uses corporate communications best practices, standards, tools and techniques for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating projects and operational functions
  • Provide advice and effective corporate communications expertise in alignment with organizational strategy with the public, government and stakeholders
  • Provide tactical and operational management to deliver team work plan in line with department business plan
  • Provides expertise on all aspects of the corporate communication process including research, approach, planning, writing, editing, proofreading, approvals and evaluations to ensure that all published communications are consistent with corporate positioning
  • Understand, link and analyze information to understand and raise issues through the appropriate channels, identify options and making sound decisions
  • Lead corporate communications on large cross-divisional teams, small department outcomes, and outputs
  • Understand the public environment and government policy and processes in order to make informed recommendations
  • Liaise and collaborate with other departments across Agricorp to understand their high-level business processes
  • Participate in the hiring of your own team


Job status: Permanent
Salary: $79,981 - $94,095
Work status: Full time in office, remote and hybrid work arrangements are available
Location: Must live in Ontario to perform this role

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or college diploma program in a related field, such as communications, marketing or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years' experience in communications and marketing, specializing in both customer and corporate communications
  • Experience in the agri-food industry or public sector an asset
  • Supervisory/leadership experience (e.g., providing work direction, coaching, and providing input to selection, performance reviews and development) an asset
  • Familiarity with Agricorp programs an asset
