As a Staff Product Designer at Workiva, you'll take the lead in shaping experiences across teams and organizational pillars through creativity and collaboration. Our staff designers are central to driving product design excellence and are true end-to-end craftspeople, owning the entire design process from concept to execution.In this role, you'll design experiences that empower our customers to deliver integrated, assured reporting with confidence on a global scale. You'll lead the creation of platform-wide solutions, playing a key role in how users interact with our products.You’ll take on high-impact challenges, working closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative, user-centered solutions. As an end-to-end product designer, you’ll own the process from discovery through delivery—turning unclear opportunities into seamless, engaging experiences. Along the way, you’ll mentor designers and collaborate with product managers and engineers, driving strategic design decisions that shape entire product areas. Your clear communication will ensure alignment across teams and leadership, ensuring successful execution.What You'll DoLead user experience design for your product area, driving innovation and crafting intuitive, customer-delighting solutionsDefine and evangelize a design vision, aligning stakeholders and fostering a shared sense of purposeApply design systems thinking, leveraging reusable components to maintain visual and functional consistency across the platformPrototype and test iteratively, ensuring designs meet both user needs and business objectivesOptimize for scalability, ensuring design solutions can grow and adapt with evolving business needs and user expectationsCollaborate with research to conduct user interviews and testing, turning insights into actionable design opportunitiesFacilitate design ideation and collaboration, solving complex problems with creative, fresh approachesCollaborate with engineering, maintaining high design quality across multiple product areasTrack success metrics, iterating on solutions post-launch to drive continuous improvementEnsure consistency and quality across projects and platforms, maintaining a cohesive user experienceWhat You'll NeedMinimum Qualifications6+ years of professional UX experience, with a track record of shipping successful productsUndergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Design, HCI, UX, Software Engineering, Psychology, or related fieldsA portfolio that showcases strong design in delivered projects, with a focus on a solid design process and measurable outcomes that drive both user satisfaction and business successPreferred QualificationsProven experience tackling complex, large-scale UX challengesStrong leadership in cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, within Lean UX/Agile environmentsMastery of design systems, particularly in medium- to large-scale organizationsA passion for user-centered design, with a portfolio showcasing business and user outcomesExpertise in visual design, systems thinking, and user-centered practicesExperience mentoring and directing other designersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsMastery of design and prototyping tools (we use Figma)Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teamsTravel Requirements and Working ConditionsUp to 20% travel requiredReliable internet access for remote workFlexibility to collaborate across global time zones as neededHow You’ll Be Rewarded Salary range in the US: $120,000.00 - $204,000.00 A discretionary bonus typically paid annually Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits packageThe salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US.
