The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a Graphics & Media Software Engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of interactive experiences on our platform. This team is working with some of Apple’s most advanced technologies including spatial computing, augmented reality (AR), ARKit and Metal, to create ground-breaking new products. As a contributor on our team you will work with new technologies such as RealityKit, AVFoundation, Metal and more. Helping you achieve your goals, you will have access to a wide variety of internal frameworks and services that will allow you to create experiences that are deeply integrated into our operating systems.Minimum QualificationsAt least 3 years of professional experience in software developmentBS Computer Science or equivalent degreeExperience in 3D graphics rendering, such as Metal, Vulcan, DirectX, or OpenGLProficiency in a systems programming language, such as C/C++, Objective-C, or SwiftUnderstanding of internet networking protocols, such as HTTPExperience in shipping applications or libraries for customer usePreferred QualificationsWorking on advanced technologies such as spatial computing and AR applicationsMS Computer ScienceExperience with immersive video formats such as Spherical v2, OMAF or VR180.Track record of building complex applications that are functional, beautiful and delightfulUnderstanding of video and audio encoding, delivery and playbackSome experience using linear algebra and 3D mathSome 3D modeling experience is helpful for visualizing problems and solutionsKnowledge of Xcode and software development on Apple platformsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $204,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
