The Amazon Fire TV Team is looking for a passionate and solution oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to run analytical solutions that deepen our collective understanding of customers, influence innovation, and deliver actionable insights. In this role you will: - Work closely with the Fire TV Marketing and Engagement teams, Data Science, Product and other Data Engineers across the Amazon Devices organization. - Use analytic tools and languages (notably SQL), and present analytical results and insights using multiple methods, including written summaries and visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau - Build scalable solutions/self-serve platforms that will provide data/KPIs to inform business decision making - Investigate data sources across Amazon and expand existing device data infrastructure - Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the device customer engagement, sales and marketing roadmap. - Develop a thorough understanding of customer behavior, competitive product trends, and business drivers to inform decision making - Analyze key insight trends and build models that predict customer behavior, using statistical rigor to simplify and provide thought leadership to device product and marketing groups - Collaborate with finance and product management as a leader of ongoing analytical support - Collect, analyze and share data to help product teams drive improvement in key business metrics and customer experience - Propose and prioritize changes to reporting and create additional metrics and processes based on program changes and customer requirements Key job responsibilities• Enable decision-making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources to present it in a digestible and actionable format• Architect standardized data models in the data warehouse for analysis and long-term reporting• Work with product teams to identify gaps and trends• Analyze large data sets using a variety of database query and visualization tools• Provide technical expertise in extracting, integrating, and analyzing critical data• Design and develop key performance metrics and indicators using standardized and custom reports• Perform ad hoc analysis to quickly solve time sensitive operational issues and business cases• Clearly communicate any potential discrepancies and/or reporting downtime, including specific root cause, steps to resolution, and resolution date to a large end-user base• Work with subject matter experts to document and translate business requirements into technical requirements• Manage multiple projects and proactively communicate issues, priorities, and objectivesAbout the teamFire TVs are among the most popular consumer electronics devices, with easy access to millions of series, movies, apps, games and more. It is just Day 1 for Fire TV and we are looking for proven, customer-centric data leaders to help continue to innovate and grow our device business.Basic qualifications- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingPreferred qualification - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasetsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
