Marketing & Game Presentation Intern

CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches is the Spring Training home to the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. This is a two-team state-of-the-art facility designed for year-round use through Spring Training games, amateur baseball, non-baseball sporting events, community events along with banquets, corporate events, weddings and more.
Summary/Objective:
In this role, you will be an essential part of the in-game experience and help build memories that last a lifetime. We're looking for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals who possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and desire to learn. The Marketing & Game Presentation intern will assist with a variety of tasks related to the branding and promotion of the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals Spring Training facility.

Work Environment:
This job operates in an office and ballpark stadium setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Ability to work in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue in all weather extremes for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a moderate active role, and will including the individual to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and/or climbing up/down stairs or ladders. Individual may also be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch, and to lift/move/carry items up to 20 lbs. on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

- Coordinate pregame ceremonies and game day presentation (National Anthem performances, video board, script writing, music).
- Pre-program and setting up the run of show on all Daktronics' systems each game.
- Game day oversight of control room and production.
- Handle media credential requests and distribution.
- Able to follow directions and work well within team setting.
- Assist in development of social media content and promotion.
- Interact professionally with both clients and fans.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university, having completed at least one semester, or recently graduated with a degree in Sports Marketing, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Must be prepared to work a minimum of 30-40 hours per week, with extended hours during the month of March.
- Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of industry specific social media metrics and best practices.
- Strong conceptual skills, including online software concepts and online experience concepts.
- Knowledge of website structure and functionality (Squarespace).
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Has a strong interest and some experience in media production.
- Has some knowledge and experience in video editing and/or cinematography is a plus.
- Photography experience is a plus.
- Gameday script writing is a plus.
- Gameday Press Box/Control Room experience is a plus.
- Professional conduct, image and demeanor in an office setting.
