Volunteers of America National Services is seeking a Strategic Communications manager to join our Marketing team! Location: 1660 Duke Street Alexandria, VA 22314.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will support VOANS communications through development and planning of content to be distributed across multiple platforms; drafting, editing and distributing messaging for internal and external stakeholders; and project management for initiatives supporting the organization's strategic plan. This individual will have the opportunity to work across the organization in a variety of communications and marketing capacities to assist in improving communications with internal and external audiences across all VOANS locations.
Schedule:
M-F 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (3 days onsite at the Alexandria, VA office and 2 days work from home)
Salary:
$85,000-$100,000 (Based on experience)

• Collaborates with marketing professionals to create marketing consciousness and customer focus across the board.
• Leads efforts to streamline internal communications through internal policy and procedure review and development.
Marketing/Communications
• Assists in leading the development of effective message strategies and positioning statements to present and expand awareness of VOANS mission, values, and services.
• Assists the Director of Communications in building the organization's identity and protects its graphic and trademarked properties as long-term core assets.
• Participates in the design of effective measurement systems of marketing/communications efforts.
• Collaborates with VOANS marketing and sales professionals.
Communications Products and Services
• Contributes to collaborative efforts with contract editors, designers, artists, writers, printers, direct mail, video production and interactive media suppliers on major communications projects as necessary.
• Develop and implement communications products that amplify marginalized voices and promote equitable access to information and resources for various stakeholders.
• Drafts press releases, talking points, and speeches and creates press kits following organizational news.
• Produces internal communications for all VOANS employees.
• Develops and plans content for VOANS social media accounts and website.
• Plans and directs production of special event materials, and marketing and communications materials for VOANS staff.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in writing and editing content for various audiences and developing internal and external communication strategies.
• Two (2) years in project
VOANS, a subsidiary of Volunteers of America, provides affordable housing and healthcare services in over 40 states and Puerto Rico. The organization employs over 2,000 professionals who provide high quality services and care to clients. As one of the largest non-profit affordable housing owners/operators in the nation, VOANS has over 240 properties and approximately 14,500 affordable housing units. VOANS also operates over forty-six (46) senior healthcare programs, including skilled nursing, assisted living, home health care, adult day, and Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
