The Senior Engineer Broadcast Architecture is responsible for translating Product vision into media technology solutions. This position will work with partner teams to design audio and metadata solutions that will advance SiriusXM operational systems into the next generation of IT centric broadcast systems, implementing key modernized technology architectures and concepts that will supply the highest level of quality and reliability to subscribers. The Senior Engineer Broadcast Architecture is responsible for refining systems architecture to meet the requirements of assigned projects and support operational excellence, as well as contribute to short and long-term strategic planning of broadcast technology.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $103,300 to $147,825 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. What you'll do:
- Facilitate solutions for Broadcast Engineering products in coordination with internal partners across Product, Engineering, Content Programming and Operations. Solutions will include commercial off the shelf (COTS) products as well as internally developed ones. Be an open- minded innovator for integrating those for our workflows and content management and creation processes as part of the solutioning effort.
- Translate Product requirements into high level conceptual designs and workflows, adding detail to architecturally significant requirements as needed.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation related to the Solutions Architecture responsibilities assigned.
- Work with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Operations, Product, Program Management, Legal, and Data Science.
- Prepare and present materials that drive key decisions that impact the Broadcast Engineering team and systems. Ensure compliance with those decisions across all the activities assigned.
- Participate in proof of concept implementations of proposed solutions
- Stay up to date on media technology standards and product trends.
What you'll need:
- Minimum Bachelor level degree in electrical engineering, information systems or systems engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience. Masters level degree in engineering preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software and hardware systems lifecycles, at least 5 of which should be in a broadcast or media engineering subject matter expert or solutions architect role.
- Experience working in a 24 X 7, critical operations environment desired.
- Experience with requirements engineering.
- Experience with systems documentation tools and techniques like C4 Models, UML, BPMN, and Architecture Decision Records.
- Good public speaking and presentation skills.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
- Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Moderate travel is required within the US and infrequent other international travel.
- Functional knowledge of MS Visio, MS Project, Jama, Jira, Confluence and Slack.
- Knowledge of hardware architecture components including servers, networking components, architectures, and related techniques.
- Knowledge of software architecture and best practices.
- Good understanding of networking including TCP/IP protocol, routing, and firewall operations.
- Knowledge of Broadcast protocols including the SMPTE 2110 suite, AES67, NMOS, and SCTE 35/104
- Familiarity with Cloud architecture for Media and/or Media transcode workflows a plus
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based computer systems, C++, MySQL, JAVA, and windows- based computer programs.
- Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
