Promotions/Entertainment Intern

The Rockford Rivets are in search of qualified individuals to join our team as Promotions/Entertainment interns for the 2025 season. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience in collegiate sports and provides an opportunity to work closely with the Broadcast Director. The summer internship program runs from mid-May to late August, requiring interns to be available for all home games (36) and any additional events assigned throughout the season. Promotions Interns will report directly to the Director of Promotions and Community Affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in implementing all pre-game, in-game, and post-game promotions.
  • Write the game script.
  • Collaborate with the PA announcer and DJ to coordinate on-field and in-game promotions.
  • Coordinate theme nights along with Marketing/Social Media Interns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the promotions areas of the stadium.
  • Assist with stadium setup and cleanup before and after each home game and event
  • Recruit fans to participate in the in-between inning promotion
  • Coordinate with Sponsorship Intern to execute sponsored elements of Rivets Stadium and ensure all elements are being executed in-season, including but not limited to:
  • In-game promotions
  • Pre-game PA reads
  • Coordinating giveaway items
  • Off-site appearances/events
  • Game day tabling opportunities
  • Attend mascot and player appearances in the community
  • Willing to be the mascot if needed
  • Willing to fill in as on-field Emcee as needed
  • Engage the crowd throughout the game and get them excited for Rivets baseball
Required Skills:
  • Current college student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Comfortable being in front of a large crowd
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude with a strong commitment to success.
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the flow of a baseball game.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Cooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and a proper attitude when dealing with co-workers and customers.
  • Performance experience preferred, but not required
