Instrumentation & Controls Designer - AutoCAD and SPI/INtools wiring proficiency

We have an immediate need for a Senior Instrumentation Designer to join our team. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits including a 401K match. As a member of our team, you will work in a schedule-driven, collaborative environment working closely with our client, our onsite team and reporting into the onsite program lead. This position requires in-person interactions and an onsite presence Monday- Friday at a refinery. The role is also open to Canadian applicants who qualify for TN visas.
Additional Responsibilities & Expectations:
Ability to use AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and SmartPlant (SPI) to generate instrumentation construction packages for field Instrument and Electrical work direction that include: a work summary, equipment quotes for procurement, drawings, data sheets, nameplate schedules, etc.
Understanding and ability to create, update or modify - P&ID's, Loop Diagrams, Connection Diagrams, Data/Spec Sheets, Installation Details, Block Diagrams, Schematic diagrams, ladder logic diagrams, Terminal/Junction box layout and connection, Fiber Optic connections, Network diagrams, layout, and plan drawings.
Understanding of Electronic and Pneumatic instruments, Control Valves, Analyzers, Flow, Level, Pressure Temperature and Vibration instruments.
Able to connect devices using analog, digital, wireless, hardwired and network signal types.
Ability to design diagrams to connect various control system platforms such as DCS, Analyzer systems, PLC's, HMI's, Network switches and media converters, Power supplies, multiplexers and stand-alone controllers.
Working knowledge of the NEC codes and ability to calculate wire fills and conduit routing.
Working knowledge of NFPA, ISA and IEEE Standards.
5+ years of related work experience (less experience combined with discipline related education will be considered).
Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; or specialized courses in design, electronics, electrical, process control; or Certificate from an Instrumentation Technical School or equivalent.
Experience in the specification (including completing data sheets in SPI) and application of various field instrumentation including transmitters, flow meters, control valves and other field devices is desirable.
AutoCAD proficiency is a must. Experience with SPI/INtools wiring is highly desired.
Ability to be badged for PSM governed facility which require TWIC card and in-depth drug screening.
Working knowledge of PLC and DCS systems with SPI for instrumentation data base updates and loops generation. Able to evaluate equipment in the field, including climbing ladders, flights of stairs, etc.

Job duties will generally be performed at a Client's office, client site, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Day to day job direction will typically be lead by our Clients designated project leader.
