The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside has been proudly serving children and families since 1967. We are one of the premier non-profits in the Inland Empire and looking for a Director of Marketing to join our team. Boys & Girls Clubs are recognized as leading advocates for youth who provide girls and boys with effective diverse programs and services; and demonstrate that caring adults can truly help young people grow into contributing human beings with the necessary skills for living. Boys & Girls Clubs are united by a common mission to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to become responsible, productive and caring citizens. The Club's impact extends throughout several sites across the Inland Empire, Redlands, and areas of the High Desert.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Identify and create opportunities to build public awareness of Club services, programs, and activities. Adapt or create messages and vehicles for promoting upcoming events or programs to the public and members, including newsletters, public service announcements, flyers, etc. Evaluate success of strategy, materials and media and modify as necessary. Work closely with program and management staff to determine potential audiences and best approaches.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership
- Develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies designed to build appreciation and support of Club programs, services, and activities, and to increase participation by youth in the community.
- Enhance and maintain the organization's brand identity.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing materials and channels to effectively communicate mission and values.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to operational strategic planning, identifying opportunities to promote Club services, programs and activities to specific constituents or the public at large.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Monitor and adjust plans based on performance metrics and emerging trends.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve Club marketing and public relations activities.
- Conduct market research to understand community needs, trends, and competitive landscape. Use insights to inform marketing strategies and tactics.
Resource Development
- Contribute to attaining financial support by increasing membership and building the Club's base of support through marketing and public relations campaigns.
- Design promotions for special events that focus awareness on Club activities, engage community support and generate revenues.
- Collaborate with the Resource Development team to support fundraising initiatives.
- Create targeted campaigns to enhance donor engagement.
Resource Management
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Control marketing and public relations expenditures against budget. Manage vendors and freelance consultants to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services.
- Establish and maintain procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials and activities.
- Continuously develop knowledge of best practices to market Club programs, services, and activities within the community.
Partnership Development
- Develop collaborative partnerships with Club staff, volunteers, members, parents, supporters, other Clubs, media contacts, consultants and vendors and other not-for-profit organizations to establish professional links within the community.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Participate in the development and coordinate implementation of all marketing and public relations activities to increase the visibility of Club programs, services, and activities.
- Manage the creation of promotional materials, advertisements, and content.
- Maintain good public relations with local media contacts, members, families, alumni, community leaders and youth serving professionals.
- Increase visibility of Club programs, services and activities by informing all media contacts and target audiences of scheduled special events. Prepare and distribute press releases, community bulletins and newsletter articles regarding events and outcomes.
- Manage and optimize digital marketing efforts, including social media, email marketing, and the organization's website.
- Utilize analytics to track performance and ROI.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Relationships
- Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club management to exchange information, seek and give assistance, consultation and direction. Maintains contact with financial staff and support staff. Maintains verbal and written contact with volunteers and volunteer committees.
- External: Maintain contact with community and corporate leaders, media contacts, schools, parents and local residents to encourage participation in scheduled special events and provide information regarding club activities and needs.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- College degree or equivalent.
- Two to three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, including media relations.
- Superior writing, editing and verbal communications skills.
- Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills, including supervision of vendors, suppliers and consultants.
- Experience with AI tools and technologies in a marketing context.
- Knowledge of desktop publishing and usual computer applications (Adobe suite, Salesforce, etc.).
- Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details
