GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
In collaboration with the College's Events Management team, this position oversees Media Services at Middlesex College, managing troubleshooting, classroom technology, emerging technology, and audio-video (AV) support for live events. Responsibilities include procurement, asset management, and hands-on project management for small to medium AV solutions. The role involves working closely with faculty and stakeholders to identify AV needs, requiring strong technical expertise and excellent project management skills.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Provides leadership and coverage to the Media Services team, with tasks including: setting priorities, organizing schedules, and tracking customer service metrics.
- Organizes and supervises a staff of professional and unionized support personnel, and provides for their training, motivation, scheduling, and performance appraisal.
- Improves operational efficiency and ensures unified technology support and customer service in Media Services and IT.
- Supervises and executes innovative strategies for a ticketing system, addressing AV requests, classroom issues, and refining overall troubleshooting strategies.
- Leads AV project design, installation, and testing for small to medium-sized projects. Designs and documents AV systems, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and IT for system delivery and support. Manages the pre-installation and installation of audio-visual systems in diverse spaces, offering design consultation and project support.
- Supports faculty, staff, and students in using audio-visual systems for learning spaces, providing technical support, system acquisition, and process improvement.
- Configures, maintains, troubleshoots, and replaces hardware and software for audio-visual systems.
- Assists the Event Services department by providing comprehensive AV and media services tailored to the requirements of events organized by College departments, student groups, and external organizations.
- Efficiently configures AV, classroom, and media technology setups, encompassing projection systems, microphones, mixers, computers, and external components for seamless streaming through platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams meetings.
- Oversees asset management and procurement for Media Services, including meeting with stakeholders, approving purchases, and managing documentation. Assists in budgeting and planning lifecycle replacements for College assets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree;
- Five (5) years of experience in a media services environment;
- Supervisory experience;
- Technical solution implementation and procurement expertise;
- Work experience with PCs, AV, multimedia, and Apple/Mac platforms;
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives; and
- Proficiency in emerging technologies, including AR and virtual reality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree; and
- IT experience in higher education.
