The Leidos SES currently has an opening for an Instructional Designer to primarily support our aviation security equipment and evaluation of our P&B training offerings. Candidates for the Instructional Designer position require a combination of in-depth subject matter expertise, as well as excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication and presentation skills. Ideal candidates will also have experience creating technical procedures, training curriculum, and documentation. They must be able to disseminate ILT content and restructure courses to follow a blended learning structure through the integration of digital content. Candidates should be outgoing and comfortable working with diverse groups of people while always maintaining professionalism. Instructional Designers will require a wide range of technical knowledge or be able to obtain that knowledge from SME's.

Pay Range: Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00

Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and redesign ILT courses / courseware to optimize learning by integrating digital solutions into our offerings.
- Following the ADDIE model.
- Consult with trainers and management on suggested changes and how to optimize.
- Develop engaging digital content for our operator and maintenance training programs.
- Integrate storyboards, e-learning, videos, webinars, virtual classroom, micro-learning modules, and any other multi-media formats into our offerings.
- Develop digital recertification training packages from our existing ILT materials.
- Analyze, update and refine existing online content.
- Reformat and digitize training tests / assessments to become LMS ready.
- Interfaces with all departments, including production, engineering, software developers, technical trainers, technical support staff, and all levels of management to ensure the most relevant and current content is being developed.
- Develop training materials for our aviation network solutions like ProSight for our On-Prem and Enterprise solutions.
- Deliver network training across the globe and cross-train others to support our global demand.
- Maintain partnership with Engineering to ensure the latest configurations and capabilities are captured and documented.
- Optimize courseware to include digital solutions.
- Audit our P&B training courses and provide suggestions for change back to management.
- Collaborate with the LMS administrator to manage and facilitate all digital instructional materials to ensure content is available for the correct audiences and packaged together in blended learning structures.
- Instrumental to ensure we are delivering the correct content to our audience in the best format.
- Support Aviation training delivery if needed - case by case basis
Basic Qualifications:
- Education, Experience, Certification: Bachelors' degree in a Technical field strongly preferred; Equivalent education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 10 years minimum as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) on industry related aviation products.
- 10 years minimum of directly related work experience within technical training and development is recommended.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of Publishing software and associated LMS ready tools
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to communicate with all departments, including production, engineering, software developers, technical trainers, technical support staff, and all levels of management.
- Ability to deliver operator and technical training courses to our customers.
