Responsibilities include digitizing and reviewing raw footage, logging shots into databases, compiling requested footage, and preparing editing equipment and software. They also assist in assembling rough cuts, organizing and archiving footage, and ensuring all materials are ready for the lead editor to create the final product(s). Additionally, they may operate camera and audio equipment to capture various kinds of footage (including photography), and help on all levels of producing podcasts. The budgeted hourly rate for this position is $22.00-$26.00/hr. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department. Job Responsibilities Production Assistance (85%) Preparing multimedia products for various distribution outlets, which can include: Uploading media content to a computer Making edits to audio/video Adding closed captions Recording voice-over and adding audio to videos Picking up equipment and recording video/audio of interviews, events, lectures, or other things as assigned Assisting in archiving digital (and analog) media assets Making basic edits to digital photographs Making basic edits to graphics Organizing the studio and equipment storage areas as needed Production Project Coordination (15%) Performing production coordination duties such as scheduling and maintaining correspondence with participants, vendors, contractors, actors, crewmembers, and researchers. Packing and shipping equipment out for shoots, tracking shipments, and documentation. Tracking equipment inventory. Attending Marketing and Communications team meetings on a semi-regular basis. Researching new equipment and trends in media production workflow. Self-led training in all of these areas. Qualifications Required Qualifications Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities. Basic operating knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and supporting software. Basic familiarity with video cameras and support equipment. Basic familiarity with lighting equipment for photography and video & film production. Preferred Qualifications Experience with various kinds of video cameras for recording. Experience with Adobe Audition, After Effects, and Photoshop. Experience with recording multi-track audio in both live and studio situations.
