SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $118,000 (Placement within this range is dependent upon experience and location)

The Global Marketing and Communications (GMC) department includes the marketing, communications, content, and events teams. The GMC department is a group of creative, strategic communicators who help meet Catalyst's mission of advancing women through workplace inclusion by expanding the organization's audience, shaping and amplifying its brand, and elevating its thought leadership. We help Catalyst Supporter companies and the public engage with Catalyst's research, products, and services on their journey to create more inclusive workplace cultures. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director, Content and Creative Operations to play a transformational role in leading Catalyst's creative storytelling and overarching operational excellence, ensuring the execution of high-impact content and creative strategies that drive brand visibility, engagement, and support for our gender equity and DEI initiatives. A nuanced and compelling communicator and strategic decision-maker, this person will masterfully balance user experience, client needs, and organizational and business priorities.
Reporting to the VP of Content Strategy and Creative Services, this leader will manage the content production pipeline, internal and external creative resources, and will ensure the brand integrity is upheld globally, in a consistent, elevated fashion. The Senior Director should be a confident and nimble leader who excels at building and nurturing relationships cross-departmentally, communicating openly, while ensuring the delivery of compelling key messages across a range of DEI topics in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in brand strategy and marketing operations, with a background in both in-house teams and agency environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creative leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive creative strategy that aligns with company goals and resonates with target audiences.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing design and multimedia team, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, collaboration, and accountability while maintaining team cohesion and up-leveling skills and capabilities.
- Lead brainstorming sessions with the design team to identify trends, develop mood boards, and continuously push to elevate the quality of design work.
- Manage, assign, and mentor multimedia and design resources, director-level staff, and freelancers, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal output
- Lead internal weekly standup calls, ensuring alignment, identifying blockers, and operational opportunities that enable efficient creative and content production at a high velocity.
- Provide status updates, both written and verbal, and present on wider projects.
Creative marketing expertise
- Advise and ensure that the creative strategy and product requests align with the company goals and resonates with target audiences.
- Work with marketing to orchestrate and lead strategic multi-channel content and creative initiatives to create adaptable components for different channels and purposes.
- Play a tactical role in the planning, ideation, and execution of creative concepts with marketing and agency partners for larger campaigns, ensuring a consistent visual identity across initiatives.
Brand identity oversight
- Own and advise on the brand identity, managing relevant rebrand efforts to ensure consistency, while proactively identifying and maximizing opportunities for improvement.
- Steward, facilitate, and reinforce the visual identity of the brand, sub-brands and programs, ensuring brand integrity is maintained globally through proper use of logos, colors, fonts, and trademarks.
- Ensure visual brand consistency of all visual assets across platforms and channels, including website graphics, digital assets, social media content, infographics, video and animated content and other creative assets that generate awareness and supporter acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Manage the video life cycle (Digital Rights Management, video acquisition/delivery and scheduling), facilitating a united design and strategic approach.
Agency and freelancer management
- Manage relationships with external creative agencies, ensuring projects are delivered with excellence and aligned with the organization's messaging and goals. Review and approve creative briefs, concepts, and deliverables.
- Build and execute training internally/externally (freelancers, consultants) as needed on "Ways of Working" and process flows, always being open to ways to improve.
- Consider freelance team an extension for creative and content teams within resource modeling, building strong partnerships.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Bridge gaps within the teams, build relationships, streamline workflows and foster collaboration between editors, content producers, creative talent, and product managers, and beyond, to enhance productivity and bolster creativity.
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to clarify design needs, build and communicate practical timelines, build workback schedules, while also maintaining clear communication with vendors and stakeholders.
Operational excellence and process improvement
- Establish and maintain best practices for content governance, workflow management, and performance tracking. Ensure consistent, rigorous standards for content quality that can be carried out at scale.
- Lead quarterly resource planning (internal & external) and advise on resource management, allocation, and strategy in alignment with budget and key business initiatives while maximizing creative and content output.
- Optimize workflows, resource allocation, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and budget.
- Champion a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring issues are not just resolved but analyzed for root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Advise, lead, and reinforce the use of Catalyst's project management tool (Asana) for day-to-day operations, establishing best practices and consistent, approachable workflows.
- Partner with the Digital Transformation team on a digital platform migration.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field and/or 8+ years of experience in creative, content strategy, operations, or related roles with a strong focus on B2B audiences.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with at least 5 years in a leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire creative teams, manage cross-functional projects, and drive brand growth.
- Prior experience working in a creative or marketing agency is strongly preferred, with a proven track record of managing multi-channel campaigns and creative production in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong marketing experience with the ability to think about executing across channels with the end user in mind.
- Expertise in building, evolving, and managing a brand identity, with a focus on consistency and clarity across platforms.
- Strong project management skills. Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritizing activities, with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Digital fluency. Proficient in creative tools and platforms, including project management software, content management systems and other marketing tools
- Ability to think strategically while also managing day-to-day operations effectively.
- Experience leading teams, both in-house and external partners.
- Experience mentoring designers, content creators, and early professionals.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Experience managing multimedia production preferred
