About the role:Liquid I.V. is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, out-of-the-box thinker to join our R&D Scientific Affairs team as the Education and Scientific Communications Lead (Principal Scientist). Reporting to the Sr. Director, Scientific Affairs, the role will be responsible for nutrition communication, act as an internal expert on hydration, nutrition science and our products. The Education and Scientific Communications Lead – Scientific Affairs will be an integral member of the LIV R&D team and will have cross functional collaboration within all levels of the business.The ideal candidate has a background in nutrition science, sports nutrition, and scientific communication for both industry/academic professionals and general consumers. Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:Develop and disseminate education materials on product science, hydration, nutrition and related topics.Develop fun, engaging science-based content that can be utilized across a wide range of channels including but not limited to social media, consumer facing marketing, conference presentations.Effectively communicate product, nutrition science to non-scientific audiences (on digital, print media, social media, websites) by leveraging an understanding of our products, science of hydration, along with strategic communication and storytelling skills.Develop white papers and conduct technical workshops to educate colleagues and advance collective knowledge in our products, advances in ingredients, nutrition, and relevant functional wellness.Work closely with marketing, insights, and sensory teams on consumer focus groups to understand and translate product science, trends and other consumer needs.Generate and provide informative scientific content about our products to Marketing and Sales teams to help advance our consumer's understanding of the science behind our products.Effectively communicate and lead in a cross-functional team environment, serving as a recognized technical expert in product knowledge.Support QA team with ingredient claim substantiation reviews and competitive ad analysis for current product portfolio.Stay up-to date with scientific publications and updates in hydration science, sports nutrition, and related fields.Qualifications:Preferred educational requirements:Doctorate in Nutrition Science, Sports Nutrition or related field orMaster’s degree in nutrition, Exercise Science andRegistered DietitianMinimum 8 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in Scientific Communication and Education.Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.Strong working knowledge of nutrition science, health and wellness, scientific communication, nutrition trends, and hydration and nutrition research. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.The expected salary range for this position is $123,000 - $184,600 annually and is bonus eligible.
