Within GABM sits the Global Brand Content & Media team who is responsible for building best in class brand content across channels and audiences (including Amex’s internal creative agency, OnBrand), driving impact and innovation through global media and analytics, and delivering cultural and brand platforms that bring the Powerful Backing of American Express to life.We’re seeking a Director of Global Media that will help our team accomplish the following:Build global brand media campaigns that drive prospect relevance & consideration at scale, while maximizing efficiency & ROIAct as a change agent to drive innovation & navigate the evolving media landscapeProvide holistic strategic perspective across business units & geographies globallyInstill a culture of testing, measurement, and sharing best practices across the organizationUse enterprise spend to negotiate media cost savings and first-to-market opportunitiesKey ResponsibilitiesLead a team driving strategy and day-to-day liaising of strategic brand campaigns across global marketsHelp develop holistic communications plan and media buying strategy across all paid channels (i.e., TV/CTV, audio, social, out-of-home, and digital media)Deliver media thought leadership and drive innovation as a subject matter authority in mediaAuthor and present performance reports, global best practices, POVs, and planning guidelines to international and business unit partners while influencing strategyDevelop and analyze campaign performance metricsCollaborate with internal and agency partners to develop and maintain communications (media) plans and ensure Amex is receiving best in class pricing/value for multi-market programsWork across multiple time zones with primary points of contact with Agency-Central hubs (NY/LDN) and colleagues around the worldMaintain and communicate up-to-date records of the media budgets for all financial management & global media investment tracking requirementsEnsure team completes compliance and legal approvals for new media tactics and partner content as neededPartner with agency and in-house SME groups on audience targeting strategy and data driven projects (e.g. measurement plans, global test & learns, segmentation)Support teams in customer journey mapping and trackingEnhance our technological infrastructure by assessing partner capabilities & features, future proofing our media buying approachDrive Enterprise collaboration by ensuring deep understanding of best practices, partner capabilities, and media innovationMinimum QualificationsMinimum 10+ years agency/brand experience in media or communications planning, with expertise in paid digital & offline channelsDirect management & oversight of large-scale media campaigns requiredExperience managing media agencies requiredGlobal/International experience strongly preferredProven ability to lead through building relationships, strong partnership & collaboration, influencing, and data-driven decision makingAbility to distill down complex information into clear communications for non-media experts and sr. leadershipSolid understanding of media measurement, emerging channels, and evolving communications paradigmsStrong thought leadership and ability to breakthrough at the marketing table, challenge the status quo, and defend media principlesDetail-orientated, with outstanding project management & accountancy skills (handling timelines, processes and media implementation needs)Self-starter and problem solver who thrives in a rapidly changing, dynamic environmentAbility to work autonomously as well as collaborate effectively with others and build positive relationships across a large organizationInfectious curiosity and passionate about innovation, creative problem solving, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environmentBachelor’s degreeQualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
