Communications Specialist with TS/SCI Polygraph - Northern Virginia

Work you'll do
  • Draft written communication products including but not limited to: published articles, workforce notes, web content, scripts for video and podcast, storyboards, brochures and posters, PowerPoint presentations/briefings, senior leader bios, senior leader speeches, talking points and remarks, etc.
  • Review communication plans and edit communication products (e.g., articles, posters, other messages as appropriate) from multiple components, offices, and employee-run advocate groups.
  • Collect, edit, and author articles for periodic newsletters.
  • Create captions and transcripts for communications products in adherence to digital accessibility requirements.
  • Proactively pitch ideas for written products that will support the client mission and enhance their brand.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of professional work experience
  • Professional experience in communications and/or marketing
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
  • Ability to work fully onsite in the NOVA area
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Media Relations, or related fields.
    • Expertise writing and editing a wide range of communication work products. May include writing articles, speeches, surveys, workforce notes, website content, scripts, remarks, newsletters, etc. at an executive level.
    • Excellent verbal written communication skills, including strong grammar, writing, and editing skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and decorum in communications commensurate with serving as a representative of a Front Office.
    • Experience working with senior principals to accurately capture their tone, lexicon, and cadence when drafting a range of written products.
    • Experience designing and executing workforce surveys, focus groups, and interviews in support of brand management. Experience interpreting and synthesizing survey and/or metrics results in a narrative form.
