Duties and Responsibilities:

Creates manufacturing procedures.
  • Gathers data.
    • Uses documents such as ECNs, BOMs, assembly drawings, etc.
    • Interviews subject matter experts.
    • Observes assembly process.
  • Generates illustrations (photos, drawings)
  • Generates text.
  • Builds procedure in approved template.
  • Passes procedure on for review.
  • Reviews draft procedure.
  • Incorporates edits generated during review process.
  • Finalizes document.

ISO procedures
  • Creates ISO procedures based on input from subject matter experts.
  • Formats ISO procedures in approved template.
  • Edits ISO procedures for clarity and correct usage.
  • Maintains manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintains ISO procedures.
  • Maintains department style guides.
  • Manages workstation and practices good housekeeping techniques.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Pursues every job with drive and determination.
  • Uses logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Performs other relevant duties as required.

Quality
  • Assists the Corporate QMS Manager with Quality Control Audits, ensuring that the processes and documentation are compliant with required standards and support implementing follow up actions.
  • Collects, organizes, documents, monitors, and distributes information related to quality and process improvement functions, possibly including but not limited to compliance to and documentation of quality management standards. Performs and reports on internal quality system audits. Documents user manuals, work instructions, procedures, and policies related to the quality and consistency of SDI products and services.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of comprehensive quality plans and procedures specific to SDI systems, in alignment with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality activities, reviews, and findings.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing review outcomes.
  • Participate in coordination meetings to address potential conflicts and ensure effective solutions.
  • Continuously assess and refine quality processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and system performance.
  • Stay up to date with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards related to quality systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and health regulations throughout product development and operations.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong command of the tools required for document creation, such as MS Word, Photoshop, etc.
  • Understand the mechanical and electrical process being documented to the level required to write the procedure.
  • Ability to write a clear and concise procedure.
  • Ability to present oneself with professional appearance and behavior in accordance with SDI Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to meet all SDI/HTC safety requirements.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to read, communicate, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers and peers, both written and verbally.
  • Adhere to established company procedures and policies, work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Possess the ability to be interactive with management staff and co-workers.

Education, Experience, Certification, and Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area of study and 5 years related work experience.

Location, Physical Requirements, and PPE

Office:
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 25 lbs., perceive depth and operate a motor vehicle.
  • Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. Working near radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others or working alone. Working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephone and vehicles. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.

Manufacturing:
  • Be able and willing to travel at least 25%.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 25 lbs. and under, perceive depth, and operate motor equipment.
  • Conditions include working inside. Working around moving objects, machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Work with heated soldering iron and flux. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to, intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, grease, dust, oils and solvents.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, microscope and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
