POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Events Coordinator is an integral part of the Canyon US Marketing Team, responsible for planning and coordinating marketing events that align with the company's brand, Sports Marketing initiatives, and Pro Sport strategy. Reporting to the Marketing and Activation Manager, this role works closely with the Pro Sport, Asset Management, and Brand Teams to execute events across the U.S., focusing on cycling promotions that generate test rides and consumer engagement, ultimately driving online sales.

The primary goal is to manage events and activations, represent the Canyon brand at these events, and provide exceptional customer experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing marketing events and activations.
  • Organizing event spaces for smooth operation.
  • Providing product insights, resolving visitor queries, and setting up test rides.
  • Supporting additional special events led by the Marketing Department.
  • Leading group rides while at activation events
This role requires strong coordination and communication skills and the ability to maintain product knowledge of Canyon's bicycles. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for Canyon's products, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to work efficiently across multiple departments to meet deadlines and optimize event execution.

Please note: This position may require extended hours and weekend work to support activations and events. Candidates should anticipate periods of travel and weekend commitments to meet operational needs.

Summary of Key Objectives:
  • Manage the operational execution of Canyon's national event calendar.
  • Coordinate all event-related resources, including staffing, travel logistics, and materials.
  • Activate events in alignment with defined brand experience guidelines and desired outcomes.
  • Elevate Canyon's reputation for exceptional customer and athlete support at events.
Minimum Position Requirements
  • BA degree in Marketing or a related field; alternatively, 2-3 years of event planning and coordination experience, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Basic bike knowledge with the ability to learn and maintain updated product information.
  • Familiarity with local cycling and outdoor communities.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Highly organized, with a sharp attention to detail.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable reading bikes and leading group rides.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Project management expertise with a proven record of success in cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage budgets.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in ambiguous situations with limited data.
  • Capable of developing and presenting clear strategies to senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50% or more during peak seasons) and work weekends.
Job Functions
  • Event Planning & Execution
    • Plan, coordinate, and manage logistics for events, ensuring branding compliance and smooth set-up/tear-down.
    • Collaborate with the showroom team to develop local activations that increase brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Post-Event Analysis & Reporting:
    • Conduct post-event reviews and provide actionable insights on sales and engagement outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to identify improvements for future events.
  • Vendor & Resource Management:
    • Act as a liaison with vendors and other stakeholders to ensure seamless event coordination.
    • Manage contracts and maintain relationships with service providers for project success.
  • Budget & CRM Integration:
    • Develop budget proposals and ensure events adhere to financial guidelines.
    • Assist with the implementation of CRM solutions to enhance customer engagement at events.
  • Calendar Management & Operational Efficiency:
    • Build and maintain a yearly calendar of events and activations.
    • Manage timelines, priorities, and logistics to ensure smooth project delivery.
