We are looking for a Senior Lighting Artist to be a part of our Art team. As a Senior Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for lighting design and implementation across various environments, levels, and scenes to help enhance the visual appeal, atmosphere, mood and gameplay of the environments and game. The right candidate for this position is very collaborative working across disciplines to ensure gameplay spaces look visually interesting, are fun to play, and provide unforgettable experiences for our players. This role will report to the Lead Lighting Artist.
Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Art Director and environment team to ensure that the lighting aligns with the overall artistic vision and technical constraints of the game
  • Work with map teams to create immersive and visually stunning lighting while optimizing lighting effects to ensure smooth performance
  • Create and implement lighting solutions that enhance the visual quality bar and player experience
  • Set up dynamic lighting systems that can interact with the game environment and characters in real-time
  • Integrate lighting assets into the game engine, ensuring they work seamlessly with other elements such as textures, models, and shaders.
  • Self-prioritize and ensure that key items are delivered to meet immediate project needs and milestones
  • Communicate effectively with the team to fulfill the visual goals of game assets and environments
  • Playtest with both the studio and the art team to review and iterate on lighting in game
Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in game development with one or more shipped titles on multiple platforms
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates experience lighting environments and characters for AAA games
  • Demonstrated experience working with modern FPS engines (UE4, UE5, etc.) and modern art pipelines
  • Demonstrated experience working with realistic art styles
  • Strong understanding of modern art pipelines
  • Strong work ethic, and ability to maintain high quality and consistent progress without constant supervision
  • Proficiency with PBR
  • A passion for games and lighting impact in game environment

The estimated base pay range for this role is: $105,000-$150,000 USD
