Project Manager - Music Product Specialists

The Music team plays an important role as the interface between our listeners, artists, and other music industry constituents. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of product related music projects and strategies designed to improve both the music discovery experience and to help artists find their audience. Your counterparts will primarily be teams in Product, Partnerships, and Editorial, but you will also deal with Marketing, Legal, Data Science, Design etc.

The Music Partner GTM team represents the "bridge" between Music Partnerships, Editorial, and our Product teams. The Content Product Specialists team's mission is to ensure new products designed for artist expression and music discovery are optimized to meet the needs of Spotify's top partners including artists, major labels, and management companies. Music Product Specialists are responsible artist pilots, content strategy, and industry adoption of our suite of Music Expression products (incl Music Videos, Clips, Countdown Pages, & Canvas). Your work will be highly strategic and will have a direct impact on the business.

What You'll Do
    • Manage stakeholder relationships and strategic projects in collaboration with the Music Team, R&D, and Product Marketing. Areas of focus will be helping artists better build audience & express themselves on Spotify, and evolving the listener experience and recommendations with editorial expertise
    • Provide strategic advice and guidance for cross-functional workstreams related to the artist and listener experiences alongside key stakeholders.
    • Ensure Music Team alignment with product roadmap and funded initiatives.
    • Recommend and operationalize recruitment strategy and comms for product pilots - connecting product to both internal and external subject matter experts.
    • Build systems for managing partner relationships and collecting feedback in partnership with User Research. Ensure partner adoption goals are met.
    • Translate technical product solutions into clear and concise narratives for Spotify's partner facing teams in partnership with Product Marketing.
    • Run effective meetings, remove blockers, and hold workgroup members accountable for their action items. Constantly strive to improve processes and ways of working so that the team becomes more efficient and impactful.


Who You Are
    • 3+ years related experience in a project management or operations role in music, media, or entertainment, from a consultancy firm, or from another complex business setting.
    • You have managed cross-functional projects from start to finish, and are well versed in models, methods, and frameworks to efficiently do so.
    • You have a proven track record to influence others, to flex your skillset, and to apply your experience in different ways, as required by the situation.
    • You have experience from motivating change and impact in a rapidly changing environment, and from working with partners across different disciplines and time-zones.
    • A strong individual contributor with the skills to build relationships with and instill trust in other people.
    • Able to translate business requirements into technical requirements and vice versa, and to clearly and confidently communicate with collaborators at all levels.
    • You are highly analytical, experienced in sourcing and interpreting data, and confident making decisions based on it.
    • A great storyteller - you share information in an inspiring, coherent, and compelling way.
    • Eager to attack unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, with a great appetite for learning.

The United States base range for this position is $67,308-$96,154, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays.
