Creative Director

Face Reality Skincare is seeking an experienced and visionary Creative Director to lead our creative team. This senior role is a hybrid position based out of our corporate office in Danville, CA. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a robust network of industry professionals and a proven track record of creating high-functioning and scalable design processes and systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to translate marketing briefs into compelling creative strategies, and a deep understanding of the evolving digital and media landscape. Partnering with our account management, project management, and marketing departments, this person would oversee a talented team of designers while leading the day-to-day development and execution of many large scale projects-including packaging concepts, new innovation, and 360 marketing campaigns.

The ideal candidate for this position is a creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for creating breakthrough creative work. The role requires a strong understanding of brand standards, design systems, and brand continuity. With many line extensions and new product forms coming from innovation, the Senior Creative Director must be able to effectively communicate the differences between products while still ensuring that the brand presence stays consistent. This is a Hybrid role working onsite in Danville, CA every Tuesday - Thursday and remotely Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Strategic Leadership:
  • Approach large-scale projects strategically, breaking down project intent and goals while aligning with audience/customer objectives
  • Serve as a composed and solution-oriented leader, making crucial creative decisions in a timely manner
  • Promote the value of design and advocate for its importance at the leadership level


Team Development:
  • Actively coach and mentor creative talent, fostering skill development and performance improvement
  • Provide hands-on leadership with large-scale projects, ensuring a seamless process from concept to execution across print, digital, and video
  • Provide a network of outsourced talent that can be utilized depending on scope and scale of projects


New Product Launch, Campaign Strategy and Development:
  • Successfully translate large-scale marketing briefs into compelling creative strategies
  • Proven track record of developing and launching strategies, setting and hitting KPIs
  • Creating uniqueness and excitement for new product launches while maintaining brand standards
  • Must help drive change for brands, providing insight and creative ideas to help our brands become more appealing to new audiences, including younger NextGen audiences


Cross Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with Marketing/Growth, Education, and Sales teams to understand strategy, business goals, and timelines
  • Serve as a strategic voice for creative, enhancing collaboration and alignment with high-level team members
  • Improve creative processes, ensuring best-in-class workflows and practices
  • Be a powerful force collaborating and integrating workflows while executing and driving brand consistency across all touchpoints


Creative Excellence:
  • Manage and inspire the creative team, setting high standards and objectives
  • Translate marketing briefs into creative briefs, guiding the team in executing cross-channel projects and launches
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to ensure project success while empowering the team to shine


Industry Expertise:
  • Leverage a robust network of photographers, stylists, producers, agencies, freelancers, etc., to enhance project outcomes
  • Demonstrate best practices for building strong and scalable design systems and processes
  • Proven track record of building out and scaling strong creative teams
  • Stay abreast of digital, social, PR, experiential, and emerging platforms to ensure innovative and effective creative strategies


Experience and Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of creative leadership experience. With relevant work managing large-scale, multi-channel projects, launching CPG brands, portfolio of relevant case studies/projects or work
  • Bachelors Degree in Design. A Master's degree is a plus
  • Strong Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, knowledge of digital and social media platforms, strong copywriting, and content development skills
  • Demonstrate and talk through their thinking, strategy, approaches and processes
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative projects
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to move the
    needle
  • Experience translating marketing briefs into creative briefs
  • Ability to challenge the brand and provide well-rounded insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of justifying creative decisions at the C-suite level
  • Approachable and accessible, with a focus on personal and professional development of the team.


Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to move around the office including stooping, crouching, and/or kneeling to troubleshoot issues
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Comfortable lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials
  • Comfortable using a computer, keyboard, and mouse

Salary: $140-160k per year plus bonus and full benefits package
