Growth Marketing Manager, Customer Lifecycle

Rippling, San Francisco, CA

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365-all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world's top investors-including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock-and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from [redacted] addresses.

About the role

Scaling a compound startup to $1B ARR and beyond means we need to scale a cross-sell marketing engine to drive revenue across multiple product lines, buyer segments and personas. In this role, you'll focus on customer lifecycle marketing, developing marketing playbooks to cross-sell and retain revenue at key points along the customer journey. Your initiatives will directly affect, cross-sell, retention, and expansion ARR-and play a pivotal role in building long-standing Rippling customer relationships.

You'll run campaigns that span channels like emails, ads, and direct mail, and work highly cross-functionally on your programs, partnering with account management, product marketing, CX, brand, implementation, TAM, customer community, data science, revenue and marketing operations, and sales teams.

This is a great role for anyone who wants to become a world-class marketer. You'll have a high degree of ownership over meaty marketing projects at one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies ever. Mamoon Hamid, a partner at Kleiner Perkins, recently said that "Rippling's growth is in the 1% of the 1%. At their scale, they are one of the fastest growing companies in the world."

What you will do

  • Execute customer marketing campaigns that span email & in-product comms, content, events, direct mail, inbound and outbound sales activations, and more. You'll own end-to-end execution including: defining the strategy, generating ideas, defining audiences and behavioral triggers, writing copy, project managing creative and infra development, and reporting on the results.
  • Analyze the performance of your campaigns using quantitative and qualitative data to determine when to pivot, scale, or kill.
  • Project-manage cross-functional teams across marketing, sales, and engineering & data science to execute on your initiatives.
  • Run tests to rapidly validate ideas, then build winning experiments into scaled programs.

What you will need

  • 3+ years of experience in fast-paced, data-driven generalist roles - e.g. consulting, marketing, product, investment banking, or bizops. Marketing experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Growth mindset and eagerness to be a world-class marketer. You should be fascinated by marketing and eager to become world-class at it. You see every challenge as a learning opportunity.
  • Experience analyzing data to drive business strategy. You'll need to translate both quantitative data (SQL, Excel) and qualitative observations into actionable insights.
  • Superb cross-functional collaboration and project management skills. You have a track record of effectively partnering cross-functionally on complex projects to deliver results.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills. You have an eye for good email & ad copy and know how much the details matter.
  • Resourcefulness and bias towards action. Without prompting, you'll dive deep into the data to find new opportunities. You move quickly to launch MVPs, and can make decisions on next steps without perfect data.
