Manager, Owned Media - Digital/Interactive Marketing

Location: Ann Arbor, MI - Hybrid On-Site/Remote

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business or related field, MBA preferred
  • Self-starter with excellent project management skills
  • Collaborator who can manage/balance stakeholder feedback from multiple teams
  • 5 - 9 years of interactive marketing experience or related experience
  • Working experience activating email and push campaigns out of an ESP technology (SalesForce preferred)
  • Experience managing agency partners
  • Experience managing an A/B testing program for digital marketing or eCommerce team
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience collaborating with analytics, database, IT, innovation and/or web experience teams
  • Experience with marketing consumer-oriented web sites / QSR industry a plus
  • Excellent people skills and vendor relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and metrics measurement background
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Lead the strategy, testing and implementation of owned media channels
  • Manage owned media agency (10 FTEs) to define annual owned media strategy
  • Monitor key KPIs and maximize sales driven by email, push and SMS marketing
  • Establish testing framework to determine most impactful strategies in email, push and SMS marketing
  • Manage all aspects of validating owned media executions including planning, deployment, QA and reporting
  • Negotiate with industry partners to establish agreements necessary for deploying email, push and SMS
  • Partner with Analytics to answer strategic questions related to customer journey and owned media strategy
  • Identify functional solves for customer pain points to be deployed in email, push or SMS
  • Build understanding of expected industry benchmarks and best practices in email, push and SMS marketing
  • Act as key owned media expert for organization and present owned media results / strategy to various stakeholders (franchisees, executives, peers, agency partners, etc.)

Collaborate with internal partners to build CRM strategies
  • Establish and execute process for requirements gathering, impact estimation, and effort/impact prioritization
  • Fulfill primary and secondary business needs for National Windows, Loyalty, Web Experience, Local Marketing, Store Innovation and Product Innovation teams
  • Partner with web experience, analytics and agency teams to design and execute best in class customer experience for owned media participants
  • Partner with Advertising to establish creative best practices informed by sales testing
  • Partner with EIM to ensure advanced customer targeting is deployed across email, push and SMS seamlessly
  • Partner with Analytics and Insights to develop advanced algorithmic strategies in email, push, and SMS
  • Leverage workplace software (Confluence) to thoroughly document planned testing/campaigns and past campaign activations/results

Manage agency partners to activate across owned media channels at a high productivity level
  • Partner with activation agency to set optimal team with blended skillset of project management, campaign execution, data and technical deployment
  • Lead agency team to exceed sales and performance objectives
  • Negotiate with activation agency to determine annual activation resource costs
  • Maintain working knowledge of ESP technology and hold agency partners accountable for resource estimations
  • Partner with activation agency to understand/react to shifting industry capabilities and privacy changes

People Management
  • Manage and mentor team members (currently team size = 2), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
  • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth of team
  • Collaborate with senior-level cross-functional teams to align personalization goals with broader company objectives
  • Ensure expenditures are within budget guidelines and recommend funding enhancements where needed
