9NEWS in Denver has an amazing opportunity for a creative, innovative, and enterprising Weekend Evening Anchor who is an excellent on-camera communicator to help serve the needs of our audience and community. We are looking for a journalist who excels at both accountability reporting and breaking news. We are seeking candidates who will trailblaze the future of news, find and defend the truth, and tell the stories of our community. This anchor should be someone who is comfortable asking tough but fair questions. This journalist must be able to work with producers to develop smart and engaging newscasts. We are looking for someone who understands the "why" behind stories and excels at impact journalism. The Anchor is a newsroom leader who will be one of the faces of the station in charge of developing contacts and relationships in the community enabling them to create and present unique, compelling, and innovative stories of interest.

Pay Range
$90,000-$150,000 USD

**RELOCATION ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED**
Responsibilities:
- Anchor multiple weekend evening newscasts on two channels, usually 5, 9 and 10 p.m.
- Fill in on other newscasts as needed.
- Write and copy edit stories under deadline.
- Work closely with the rest of the on-air and off-air team to produce a market leading newscast.
- On reporting days, identify and pitch multiple story possibilities.
- On reporting days, gather, shoot, write and edit news stories under deadline.
- In some instances, work directly with photojournalists to produce stories.
- Report live from the scene of various news stories.
- Produce a digital version of each broadcast story.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or communication preferred.
- 3- 5 years of experience in daily electronic journalism, including regular opportunities to anchor newscasts.
- Thorough understanding of journalism practices and ethics.
- Work Environment: Outdoors
- Physical Demands: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
