Job Description
A detail-oriented thinker with excellent writing and research skills. Responsible for the creation and management of a wide array of internal and external company messaging including pre- and post-journey communications to guests and travel advisors, crisis management communications, and statements supporting the Reservations Department and company website. This copywriter position will be responsible for writing, proofing, and editing copy for a variety of guest and advisor-facing projects (including itinerary change letters, expectation-setting letters, personal tour documents, post-tour refund letters, and crisis management communications), working closely with the World Wide Operations, Reservations and Guest Relations teams to develop clear, accurate, positive and proactive messaging written in the Tauck voice.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:
• Conduct appropriate research on subject matters prior to publication to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of content
• Contribute to a consistently high level of quality, accuracy and productivity to support organization-wide messaging goals
• Collaborate with Worldwide Operations and Reservations teams and others to deliver high-quality work on time and in full
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with high-volume workload
• Support other departments (particularly Worldwide Operation and Guest Relations) in crafting messaging to address sensitive issues by presenting the company's perspectives and actions in an accurate and positive way
• Participate in crisis management situations, creating and distributing internal and external messaging as needed, monitoring media, coordinating efforts of outside consultants, etc.
• Work closely with Worldwide Operations on the creation and management of consumer-facing communications, and ensure content and style are consistent with company brand standards and messaging
• Ability to translate feedback from team members in a creative, productive and positive way
• Ensure consistency in internal and external communications by coordinating messaging to the Reservations Sales Center, Tauck website, Tauck Directors, Sales Team and others
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Exceptional writing and research skills
• Ability to organize sometimes complex information and present it in a clear, concise and positive manner
• 8+ years of professional copywriting experience with a solid portfolio of work
• Exceptional teamwork skills; ability to interact and contribute effectively with others in a fast-paced, collaborative team atmosphere
• Ability to organize and multi-task while completing projects to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• Savvy with AI for content creation, editing, and proofing
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - and ability to perform under pressure
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
• Proofreading experience and familiarity with the AP Stylebook and The Chicago Manual of Style
• Ability to work both independently and with a team to meet deadlines
