We have a new opportunity for an Industrial Architectural Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone, with an architecture or engineering background who has an interest in designing transit and light industrial facilities. You will work on tasks with close guidance and direction from a Senior Industrial Architect. Design work primarily involves functional planning, workflow and facility optimization, and facility layout.

Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Architecture, industrial design or mechanical engineering. A minimum of 5 years of similar experience.

We have a new opportunity for an Industrial Architectural Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone, with an architecture or engineering background who has an interest in designing transit and light industrial facilities. You will work on tasks with close guidance and direction from a Senior Industrial Architect. Design work primarily involves functional planning, workflow and facility optimization, and facility layout.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Aiding in gathering, organizing, and checking multi-discipline client stakeholder requirements.
- Participating in on-site workshops and presentations with clients and other architects and engineers.
- Writing various reports to document project requirements and deliverables.
- Aiding in functional planning of transit and industrial facilities including needs assessments, master planning, facility optimization, and workflow optimization.
- Developing process flow diagrams identifying personnel, material, vehicle and equipment flows.
- Developing functional programs identifying area space needs, space gross-up factors, and requirements.
- Developing and compiling equipment lists, schedules and datasheets.
- Modeling of industrial shop equipment, industrial workbenches and storage equipment.
- Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details.
- Utilizing BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional shop equipment layouts and diagrams.
- Coordination of operational, maintenance and equipment clearances with multi-discipline design team.
- Utilize BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
- Participate in bidding and negotiation phase and prepares addenda.
- Review shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.
- Lead project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
- Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of the project specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Ability to conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program.
- Ability to develop floor plans, sections, and details.
- Ability to check work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of project document production.
- Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
- Ability to communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written).
- Ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively while working remotely.
- Strong presentation and interview skills.
- Strong understanding of Revit or AutoCAD and the use of it as a design tool.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe software such as InDesign and Photoshop.
Education and Experience
