Lead Communications Specialist

NIRA, Inc. is seeking a Lead Communications Specialist to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, you will collaborate closely with FAA program managers to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that effectively engage both internal and external stakeholders. These stakeholders include senior agency leadership, FAA programs/directories, Congressional offices, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the Government Accountability Office (GAO)., industry and academic partners, as well as internal teams. Your work will be instrumental in clearly articulating the FAA's mission, values, and core capabilities. Additionally, you will ensure the high quality of all deliverables, maintaining both editorial and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategies: Collaborate with FAA leadership and stakeholders to create and execute strategies that clearly convey FAA's mission, values, and objectives.
  • Produce and Edit High-Quality Content: Analyze, synthesize, and present data in a clear manner. Review and edit various work products, including reports, briefings, and responses to external inquiries, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure Quality of Deliverables: Oversee the review process for all deliverables, ensuring they meet the highest standards of editorial and technical quality before submission.
  • Leverage Communication Tools: Utilize tools such as SharePoint, websites, and novel media formats to enhance communication efforts and effectively disseminate information.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement: Lead meetings, deliver presentations, and manage communications with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships with FAA organizations, industry, and academic partners.
  • Adapt and Optimize Communication Efforts: Continuously assess and refine communication strategies to align with evolving FAA priorities and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.


Required Skills:
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in communications, program management, or technical writing.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, with a track record of effectively engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting Federal Government communications needs.
  • Experience using visualization to present data.
  • Experiences with creating multi-media presentations.
