We are offering an exciting opportunity for an entry-level civil/highway designer to join our award-winning highway/roadway practice in our New York City office. This is an opportunity to apply your skills, contribute to major projects, and be mentored by engineers with significant experience delivering projects to some of the area’s largest municipalities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of conceptual alternative and final design plans for highway, roadway, interchange, and drainage projects
  • Assist in the design and production of traffic control and staging plans and traffic, signing, and striping plans
  • Perform geometric designs and plan development utilizing a variety of computer design software, including MicroStation, AutoCadd, InRoads, AutoTurn and GuideSign
  • Assist in the design of ADA-compliant facilities, including sidewalks, shared-use paths, and intersection curb ramps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • Zero- five years of civil engineering experience
  • Detailed-oriented, self-starter, and comfortable working in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with MicroStation V8i experience with Bentley In-Roads (preferred)
  • EIT certification and prior internship experience are (preferred)

Benefits

Salary range — $72,000-100,000 annually. Salary commensurate with level of experience.
