We are seeking an Media Technologies Evangelist for the Worldwide Developer Relations team. As a member of Apple’s Evangelism team, you’ll help 3rd-party developers create incredible media and entertainment experiences on Apple devices. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the user interface, app architecture, and quality of experience enjoyed by millions of people every day.
You possess a passion for Apple technologies, a rich background in video streaming technology, and show proven aptitude with developing for Apple platforms.
You have strong communication and people skills, since you’ll be presenting in public, collaborating cross-functionally within Apple, and working side by side with developers every day.
DescriptionWork directly with 3rd-party developers to develop full stack media and entertainment apps, encouraging and helping them to use Apple technologies.
Consult with leading 3rd-party developers to optimize, modernize, and adopt key Apple technologies such as Low Latency HLS, Spatial Video, and Apple Immersive Video.
Lead hands-on programming workshops and labs to assist developers with the adoption of specific Apple technologies.
Collaborate with Apple engineering teams to advocate for the requirements of 3rd-party developers, plan and oversee technical sessions for Apple's annual Worldwide Developer Conference and other developer activities year-round.
Minimum QualificationsB.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, or Software Design EngineeringRich, hands-on involvement developing applications for Apple platformsMedia industry experience providing audio and video solutionsPreferred QualificationsDeep knowledge of HTTP Live Streaming, FairPlay Protected Streaming, and related video playback technologiesExpertise in encoding and packaging video using codecs such as MV-HEVC and HEVC.Experience with Xcode, Swift, and SwiftUIFundamental understanding of modern app development techniques.Outstanding written and verbal communication skillsProven public speaking and presentation skillsDedicated individual who understands Apple's high standardsHighly professional, with proven experience in delivering solid work on tight schedules.Motivated, proactive, outgoing, and comfortable working in a loosely structured, collaborative organizationPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
