Hendrick Automotive Group Location: 6000 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28212 Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Communications Manager to join the marketing department at Hendrick Automotive Group. This role is pivotal in serving as an extension of our social media team, fostering media relationships, and crafting engaging content across various platforms. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties can be assigned. Social Media & Content Support: Work alongside the social media and content team to develop engaging and creative storylines and content ideas that meet business objectives; create blog and website content that serves as an extension of social campaigns Script Writing: Work alongside video and content teams to craft video scripts and concepts for both internal and external video projects Blog Writing: Develop engaging blog content that aligns with the company’s voice and objectives. Website Content Writing: Write and update website content to ensure it is informative, engaging, and SEO-optimized. General Copywriting: Produce and proofread various written materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency. TeamMates Newsletter: Manage content for the monthly TeamMates newsletter, highlighting company updates and employee achievements. Company Announcements: Oversee internal and external communications regarding significant company announcements and initiatives. Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure earned media coverage. Press Releases: Write, edit, and distribute press releases to effectively communicate company news and initiatives. Media Inquiries: Field questions from media representatives, preparing thoughtful statements and responses as needed. Monitoring & Response: Track news releases and media coverage related to the company, responding to inquiries and publicity in a timely manner. Executive Communication: Prepare and present media and speech speaking points for executives, ensuring alignment with company messaging. Event Coordination: Invite and coordinate with media representatives for company events, hosting them to enhance coverage and engagement. Crisis Management: Develop and execute crisis communication strategies to address potential issues and protect the company’s reputation. Travel required as needed to support our dealership operations Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in communications or public relations, preferably in a corporate environment. Proven ability to build relationships with media and secure positive coverage. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience in crisis communication and a proactive approach to potential issues. Familiarity with digital communication strategies and social media platforms is a plus. Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
