JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Wheelhouse Studios is looking for a Director to oversee our studio spaces and programs. Located in the lower level of the Memorial Union, Wheelhouse Studios serves as UW Madison\'s art studio. We are seeking a dynamic, creative individual to lead our team as Director. The person in this position will have the opportunity to shape exciting and engaging free and revenue generating art events that appeal to participants across a broad demographic. We offer a wide range of classes, workshops, events and provide drop-in studio space. We\'re looking for someone with the creative spark and vision to conceptualize, implement, and evaluate programming that will engage students and the greater community. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. 25% Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives 10% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan 10% Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures 15% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services 10% Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan 10% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees 20% Serve as a member of the Community Engagement Team to develop and implement programming focused on revenue generation and engagement with the Wisconsin Union.
