Role description
The Senior Visual Designer within the Culligan Brand Studio serves as a creative and brand experience leader for Culligan overall. They will be responsible for driving a culture of curiosity and excellence in the Studio and with global teammates. As part of the senior creative team, the Senior Visual Designer will work in close partnership with senior marketing and product leadership to advance the modern brand expression of Culligan through design across all digital and physical touch-points. This professional will serve, lead, and guide both Culligan internal teams and external agencies, collaborators, and/or partners. They will help expand the influence and impact of the Culligan Brand inside and outside of the company and strengthen overall execution excellence. While being the leader for the advancement of the Culligan brand, this professional will be personally responsible for leading multiple strategic packaging projects (and teams) both practical and progressive in nature. This work will include the packaging design system and strategy for our brand identity, retail expression, best-in-class sustainability practices, best-in-class craft practices, support for product collateral, environments, and exhibitions guidance, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Be a strong advocate and expert in the purpose, strategy, and expression of the Culligan brand
-Collaborate, influence, as well as manage through his/her expertise and knowledge of design
-Distinguish good design from bad, careless from well-conceived and crafted
-Generate new ideas continually, while keeping an eye on establishing and maintaining standards
-Be accountable for the overall success of projects and experiences measured in specific business outcomes, such as new customer acquisition/adoption of a service/brand awareness
-Serve as a thought leader both inside and outside of Culligan
-Develop strategies, plans and set priorities
-Successfully navigating organizational complexities
-Consistently exceeding brand experiences previously created
-Stay up-to-date on industry trends for brand design and marketing, growing your skills as best practices evolve
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
-Visual design, identity, storytelling, branding, and flawless execution
-Extensive experience leading design, production, and agency partner teams
-Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, including Developers, Product Managers, and Design Researchers.
-Experience working with social and marketing campaigns
-Experience creating and editing video and sound
-Experience leading video/photo shoots: both product, lifestyle, and events
-Experience collaborating with copywriters.
-Experience with 2D Animation applications such as After Effects, Premier Pro, or others...
-Communicating and interfacing with stakeholders about design concepts, principles, criteria, and guidelines
-Collaborating with other design leaders and practitioners to push the limits and look beyond the day-to-day, while working within constraints
-Taking ownership of teams and work-from conception to production-ensuring innovative work, best practices, and standards of quality
-Bachelor's degree in Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
-8+ years of art/creative direction and creative leadership experience
-Applications: (Highly proficient)Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Blender, Figma, MS Office, Keynote/Powerpoint, XMural or other white boarding tool, Adobe creative suite.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
-Experience applying and extending design systems.
-Experience conducting/analyzing usability tests.
-Experience designing interactive digital UI experiences.
-Experience creating/editing online educational videos
-Experience with 3D animation applications such as (CGI, Cinema 4D, or others)
