Position Summary
The Web Developer is a key technical and managerial role responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and performance of Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) public-facing websites and mobile platforms. This position also plays a critical role in supporting the corporate intranet and other web-based initiatives. You will lead the technical direction of PBR's digital assets, ensuring consistent and high-quality web experiences while managing both internal and external resources to drive successful project execution.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain web applications and PBR's online presence, ensuring high performance and usability across platforms.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on technical aspects of digital projects, participating in project briefings and status meetings.
Manage external technology providers and oversee publishing and reporting tools when necessary.
Lead the development of the corporate intranet and additional web-based assets.
Manage internal/external resources, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
Serve as the primary technical resource for all PBR online assets.
Supervise and mentor the Web Development team, providing guidance and setting strategic direction.
Support the execution of PBR's Digital Media business plan, particularly in relation to technical development and content delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Extensive experience in digital media, with an emphasis on web, mobile platforms, and managing audio/video content.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven project management experience, including budget management, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Advanced knowledge of web development technologies and practices: Required: Microsoft IIS, Umbraco CMS, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Preferred: PHP, Apache Web Server, Apple iTunes development services, advertising servers (OpenX).
Familiarity with web-based advertising inventory management.
Understanding of ColdFusion content management and ASP.NET web programming.
Experience tailoring websites to function optimally across multiple browsers and devices.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field- preferred. Equivalent experience of 5+ years in web development may be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on web development experience in a production environment.
At least 2 years of managerial experience, preferably within digital media, sports, or entertainment industries.
Experience in web-based advertising is a plus.
Working Conditions Standard office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Occasional travel, extended hours, and weekend work may be required based on project needs.
