Position Summary
The Student Designer will assist with the creative development and maintenance of printed and digital marketing initiatives for both internal and external clients at Oregon State University. This position offers an opportunity for students to develop creatively, gain experience, build their portfolio, and to further strengthen their design skills and experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. This position is located in Bend, Oregon.
Position Duties • Concept, draft and design print materials • Work collaboratively as a part of the college's marketing & communications team to ensure all designs meet the needs of the client and utilize the Oregon State University brand in creative and visually engaging ways • Generate visual assets via design, illustration, photography, video or animation • Complete administrative tasks as requested (digital asset & file organization, records, office upkeep)

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications •
Qualifications: * • Must be academically enrolled • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term • Proficiency in Adobe design software: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Word, PowerPoint • Understanding of basic principles of design and typography • Good time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects at once • Commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity • Ability to accept and apply constructive feedback • Creative vision and the ability to advocate for your ideas
