About The Role: Drivemode is a design-focused company, and we’re looking for someone who understands that a designer’s job isn’t to just make things look great, but to produce work that is thoughtful, organized, and created in an iterative and research-backed process. As a Product Designer, you’ll start with the hands-on development of a companion app for the new generation of electric vehicles for Honda and Acura brands. Next, you will be expanding into interior digital components and other parts of the overall driving user experience. You will ensure our products are easy-to-use, valuable to our customers, and crafted with a high level of execution. What You Will Be Doing: Design the user experience of new features from concept to launch with our product managers, engineers, and Honda’s internal teams Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and valuable products for drivers Wireframe, prototype, and design end-to-end flows that are simple and elegant Create visual systems for new products that uphold Drivemode’s design standards Gather data, synthesize research, and iterate on features that are being used by people all over the world Freedom to test new ideas and push boundaries What We’re Looking For: 4+ years of experience designing, shipping, and iterating on mobile applications or software at the level of features/products for an entire end-to-end experience Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field Great communication and collaboration skills that will allow you to work well with product team members and global partners Visual design ability that encompasses a great eye for layout in desktop/mobile interfaces, typography, iconography, and color Understanding of information architecture and “one-product” mentality Interaction design skills that showcase your abilities to understand people’s needs and how they affect a user’s experience A thoughtful web portfolio demonstrating your passion for simple, intuitive, and beautiful design Nice To Have: Business level Japanese is preferred 3D modeling and animation Compensation: $141,000 - $191,000 a year This is the position's total compensation package including the company's bonus structure. This position also comes with full benefits. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors.
