A fast-growing Top Ten Local CPA Firm is looking to hire a senior tax accountant. This opportunity for a senior tax accountant is open due to the Firm continued organic growth as well as their US Partnership. The ideal candidate will be looking to transition out of a boring CPA public accounting and has experience with the preparation of PR tax returns, federal and state tax returns. Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex PR state, federal, and local tax returns for corporations and individuals.
Prepare extensions, estimated payments and withholdings for corporations.
Conduct tax research and provide guidance on tax planning strategies.
Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
Complete forms for tax refunds.
Advise management regarding efforts of business activities on taxes and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper documentation and adherence to SOX controls.
Provide support in mergers and acquisitions activities, including due diligence and integration of acquired entities.
Prepare financial reports and assist in financial statement preparation.
Analyze payroll data and ensure accurate reporting of taxes withheld.
Experience
Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
Proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
Experience with SOX controls and compliance
Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions processes
Ability to analyze financial data and perform account reconciliations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for financial report writing
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
