Dreamscape Learn, a leading pioneer in the realm of immersive XR educational products, is actively seeking a talented Audio Engineer to join our team on a contract basis.
As an Audio Engineer at Dreamscape Learn, you will be responsible for the recording, editing, mixing, and mastering of audio for a variety of projects, including music, voiceovers and sound design for a variety of cinematic, immersive education experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, an ear for precision, and a passion for delivering exceptional sound quality across multiple formats.

This is a 1099 contract role.
Role and Responsibilities
- Sound Design: Create and implement sound effects, foley, and custom audio assets for various projects.
- Recording & Editing: Manage the recording, editing, and processing of audio content, ensuring clarity, precision, and consistency.
- Mixing & Mastering: Mix and master audio files to industry standards, optimizing sound for different platforms and formats.
- Implementation: Importing and implementing sounds into the Unity game engine.
- Collaboration: Work closely with producers, directors, musicians, and content creators to ensure that audio aligns with creative vision and meets project goals.
- Post-Production Workflow: Optimize post-production workflows, ensuring projects are completed within deadlines and with the highest quality standards.
- Technical Setup & Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and maintain audio equipment and software; troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- File Management: Maintain organized audio file storage, ensuring proper archiving and backup of all audio assets.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an audio engineer or sound designer in a professional setting (e.g., game development, film/audio post-production) directing voice talent.
- Strong proficiency in industry-standard DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Nuendo, or similar.
- Experience in interactive design, such as Unity experience.
- In-depth knowledge of audio recording, mixing, mastering, and editing techniques.
- Familiarity with audio processing tools and plugins (e.g., Waves, iZotope, Universal Audio).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio equipment and software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering top-quality audio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Great organizational skills.
- Start-up experience a plus.
- Experience with immersive audio formats (e.g., Ambisonics, binaural audio, surround sound).
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and virtual studio setups.
Benefits
Monthly rate: $6,500-$8,350 (DOE)
