Robert Half is looking for an experienced and versatile Senior UX Designer to join our client’s team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping engaging digital experiences for book authors, readers, and shoppers. This position requires a UX generalist with strong problem-solving skills who can confidently take on projects spanning authoring tools, reading platforms, and e-commerce journeys. The ideal candidate thrives on tackling complex design challenges, communicates ideas effectively, and works collaboratively to deliver impactful, user-centered solutions.


Duration: 5-month contract

Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid-onsite)

Pay Rate: $62-67/hour

Hours: 40 hours/week


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop intuitive designs for OS-native and web applications that support authors, readers, and shoppers. Take ownership of projects from ideation to implementation, balancing user needs with business goals.
  • Partner with UX researchers to conduct and synthesize complex user research. Independently run small usability tests to refine designs and validate concepts.
  • Break down complex problems into clear objectives, crafting user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and recommendations.
  • Create and frame design solutions in concise, visually compelling decks for stakeholder review. Lead discussions to resolve blockers, answer questions, and align teams toward decisions.
  • Explore and refine ideas through ideation, feedback sessions, and testing, ensuring the final product is polished and user-friendly.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other team members to deliver designs that meet technical, user, and business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of professional UX design experience, with a portfolio showcasing work across web and OS-native applications.
  • Strong proficiency in crafting user flows, wireframes, and prototypes with tools like Figma, Sketch, or equivalent.
  • Experience working alongside UX researchers on complex projects and independently conducting usability testing.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas, distill complex challenges, and create structured, engaging presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder meetings, facilitate feedback discussions, and drive design decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of UX best practices, accessibility standards, and design trends for both web and native applications.
  • Comfortable working in agile environments, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to shifting needs.
