The Great Escape Room is a fast-growing, family-owned company offering a high-quality escape room experience. Established in 2014, we have 17 locations across the eastern United States. We are seeking a talented and experienced Scenic Artist to join our creative team. This role is pivotal in bringing our artistic visions to life through a multitude of techniques.
Responsibilities
Scenic Painting
Work with many different mediums including, but not limited to : Resin, 3D printers, sewing, light carpentry, paper items, laser cutter and CNC machine
Knowledge of or ability to learn software such as Fusion 360 and VCarve
Collaborate with the creative team and translate the ideas into life
Perform blueprint reading to accurately interpret designs and implement them effectively.
Oversee the preparation of surfaces, mixing paints, and applying finishes using various techniques.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during all painting processes, including proper handling of materials.
Lifting and moving of pieces as required during prep in the shop.
Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
Requirements
Proven experience in scenic painting (washes, glazes, wood graining and others).
Strong skills in prep and paint application in various methods, faux finishing, and texturing principles.
Ability to read blueprints, mood boards, and color samples to execute designs accurately.
Experience with hand tools and painting equipment is essential.
Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as needed (up to 40 pounds).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
A passion for the arts and a keen eye for detail is highly desirable.
Travel is required for new room installations. This can vary from monthly to every few months.
Work Environment
Exposure to typical construction noises, smells, fumes, airborne particles, and machinery.
Moderate to loud noises
