Description
The Marketing Team Leader assists in the development and coordinates the execution of sales objectives, strategies, and marketing activities including advertising and promotional programs, direct mailings, sell sheets and handouts, web design and updates, company logo and literature, customer events and trade shows. This position researches leading edge conceptual product design to capture trends in the use of graphics to create new product appearance. The Marketing Team Leader develops and coordinates the marketing of new products, processes or services, or new uses for established products and prepares the data for analyzing the competitive position of the company and its products, and the evaluation of sales methods, records, trends and market potential.

The Marketing Team Leader assists in the development and coordinates the execution of sales objectives, strategies, and marketing activities including advertising and promotional programs, direct mailings, sell sheets and handouts, web design and updates, company logo and literature, customer events and trade shows. The Marketing Team Leader develops and coordinates the marketing of new products, processes or services, or new uses for established products and prepares the data for analyzing the competitive position of the company and its products, and the evaluation of sales methods, records, trends and market potential.
Leadership and Management
- Sets departmental goals in alignment with the company objectives and obtains planned results. Prepares budgets, progress reports and annual reports for the owners and Senior Leadership Team.
- Determines focus areas for process improvement efforts. Directs and manages process improvement activities with the intent to improve quality and productivity. Documents and tracks project improvement initiatives.
- Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the work of department team members for effective and efficient operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Follows laws and regulations with regards to Human Resources and safety. Interviews, hires, and trains team members; develops work schedules; authorizes leave, PTO and overtime; reviews performance; disciplines team members; and addresses complaints and resolves problems. Ensures a safe work environment for all team members, identifying potential hazards and enforcing compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
- Conducts meetings to communicate department and company changes. Recognizes achievements and promotes team member development for the purpose of enhancing knowledge and proficiency of team members. Creates an atmosphere that promotes team cohesiveness.
- Ensures effective communications and collaboration with all shifts and departments. Creates and maintains professional work relationships with external entities.
Sales Program Analysis and Evaluation
- Analyzes and reviews effectiveness of the sales program with the Sales Manager.
- Develops customer satisfaction measurement tools, gathers and analyzes information to be used by the company for customer service improvement opportunities.
- Maintains marketing calendar of sales and marketing events.
- Reviews, revises and updates DuraTech website and company brochure as needed.
- Reviews, revises and updates sell sheets for existing and new products and/or processes as required.
- Maintains control of customer handouts used by company sales personnel to assure consistent, current messages.
- Maintains control of production samples used by company salesmen to illustrate DuraTech capabilities to prospects and customers.
- Develops advertising, marketing collateral and promotions as outlined in yearly operating plans.
- Provides support for trade show exhibition and/or attendance.
- Assists in the analysis of sales and market trends for target markets and customers.
- Coordinates outside marketing services for competitive analysis, pricing benchmarking, etc.
- Provides direction and market analysis to the development of new DuraTech products and capabilities.
- Researches new types of equipment/technology geared toward improving overall capacity and quality and production rates.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends in industry and technology in order to serve as an informational resource for DuraTech. Attends seminars, workshops, conferences, and other educational events to get new ideas and improve operations. Occasional out-of-town travel.
- Works weekends, holidays, split shifts, nights and varied work schedules that are required to meet the needs of DuraTech.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Associate's degree in Marketing or related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in marketing required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
- Basic knowledge of employment law.
- Strong leadership skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Effective training and problem solving skills.
- Advanced drawing and design software skills.
- Skills and abilities to learn new computer software.
- Ability to work proficiently in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of team members and management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
- Ability to work independently without continued support from others.
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
