You role model the Indigo Beliefs by being authentic, seeking inspiration and knowing your audience, and you influence your customers through the stories you tell; connecting them to our brand. WHAT YOU’LL DO Be the brand ambassador in our luxury, specialty book shop. Act as the point of contact for corporate and gifting sales in addition to sourcing new opportunities. Create a warm and welcoming environment in our store. Attend product training sessions monthly and quarterly. Train other staff members on ASSOULINE product knowledge. Process transactions for sales, returns and exchanges within the shop. Interact with designers, decorators and other home decor customers and provide suggestions to curate a collection of offerings for potential clients. Provide input to buying team on assortment. Attend book fairs and other off-site sales opportunities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Experience in specialty retail or a retail service role; luxury experience highly desired, previous experience in home design or interior decorating a plus. Knowledge of specialty books or print business is highly preferred but not required. Preferred candidates will have 2-3 years of sales experience in a one-on-one retail environment. Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to learn new things and be exposed to all aspects of the store. Demonstrated commitment to creating an exceptional employee and customer experience. Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time. Ability to lift medium to large items, up to 40 pounds, while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, late nights and early mornings. This position requires candidates be available during peak holiday times to meet the needs of our customers.
