Job Description
The Design/Build firm primarily services the steel industry for warehouse and distribution centers to mid-rise multi-story structures.
As the Structural Steel Detailer, you will work with Project Managers to assist them with the following tasks:
- Adapting Structural and Architectural drawings into fabrication shop drawings and field use erection plans.
- Coordination and design with customers/subcontractors/vendors.
- Attendance of design & job site meetings.
- Printing, emailing, and distributing plans, RFPs, etc.
- Writing RFIs and submittals.
- Printing drawings for estimating and fabrication.
- Entering bill of material from drawings into EJE software.
- Creating job schedules.
- Managing multiple projects at one time.
There are currently three Project Managers and two detailers within the firm, and we are looking for an additional Detailer due to the influx of current and future work. You will utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and SDS2 for structural detailing and modeling (3D). You will also be responsible for taking architectural drawings and converting them into shop drawings. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) will be another common application utilized in your daily routine.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s). During the initial 12 months, you will be employed through Actalent Services where you will have access to full benefits (medical, dental, vision, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k). After 12 months you will be eligible to transition to the engineering firm as a direct employee.

Qualifications
- +1 year of experience with Building Design experience for commercial buildings (this can include structural, architecture, facilities design)
- Revit exposure & AutoCAD exposure
- Must know how a building is designed
- Ability to manage multiple projects with a PM
- Understanding of how to read blueprints
