Responsibilities of the Controller:
Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement analysis.
Create and maintain monthly reports to compare and analyze actual results against budgets, forecasts, and previous results.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify cost savings and maximize profitability.
Serve as a point of contact and resource for department leaders to resolve issues.
Manage accounts payable, including payment processing and overseeing the AP team.
Prepare sales and use tax returns.
Implement and streamline ERP and business applications.
Issue timely and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements.
Coordinate the preparation of external monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Assist external auditors with the annual audit.
Coordinate the preparation of income tax returns and provision requests.
Assist with the integration of acquisitions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting systems and supporting databases, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.
Train and support team members in the use of financial systems.
What the company needs in a Controller:
CPA Designation
Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
Public Accounting Experience working for a large regional firm
NetSuite Experience (+)
ERP management and implementation experience (+)
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary: $120,000-140,000
