STAFF TAX ACCOUNTANT

CFS is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Staff Tax Accountant with experience in tax preparation, payroll tax returns, and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client engagements across these areas, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, accurate payroll administration, and timely bookkeeping support.

OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF TAX ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Perform bookkeeping duties, including maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and recording financial transactions
Assist with year-end tax filings and tax planning for clients
Conduct tax research and stay informed about changes in tax laws and payroll regulations
Provide financial statements and reports to clients
Collaborate with senior accountants and partners to ensure accuracy and deliver high-quality client service
Maintain organized records for tax and bookkeeping functions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE STAFF TAX ACCOUNTANT:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, payroll tax returns, and bookkeeping, preferably within a CPA firm
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystems, UltraTax)
