Senior Controller
About the Role and Organization - Senior Controller
CFS New York is working with a growing Non-Profit organization looking for a Senior Controller to join their team.
They offer an excellent health insurance plan along with a 403B
This role will be reporting directly to the CFO and will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, audit and reporting activities
Role Responsibilities - Senior Controller
Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems, ensuring compliance
Aid in oversight of grants and contracts management systems, including cost allocation plans; analyze organizations annual budget
Monitor contract reporting, including the approval, budget modification, contract reporting, revenue vouchering, collection processes
Coordinate audit activity
Maximize financial outcomes for government contracts and grants through cost analysis support
Coordinate the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly reports for all operating units
Prepare monthly summary of government contract receivables
Review proposed budgets, account analyses and reporting, provide leadership and advice to all members of the Finance team as needed
Prepare and submit annual consolidated financial report (CFR) in a timely manner
Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with agency leadership, assessing cash requirements for anticipated expenditures and projected revenue collection
Preferred Qualifications - Senior Controller
Experience working in a nonprofit social service setting
BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; CPA a plus
7+ years of nonprofit fund accounting
Extensive experience in both performance and cost-based government contracts
experience with Excel and accounting software (FundEZ is a plus)
Must have a solid understanding of accounting procedures coupled with a strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and internal controls
Experience negotiating and working with a variety of federal, state, and local government contracts/grants
