Job Description
Overview:
The Graphic Designer for OneWater Marine will support the business with a variety of print and digital design solutions. As part of the Creative Team, and reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the fully remote Graphic Designer will use web-based project management and communication tools to receive new assignments, complete tasks, produce proofs, receive feedback, brainstorm solutions, log time and prioritize their work. They will primarily use programs within Adobe’s Creative Cloud to conceptualize and finalize approved designs. They will collaborate with other Graphic Designers and Copywriters to develop strategic solutions to a variety of requests. Examples of commonly requested digital designs include graphics for web, email, social and paid ads, while print design requests can include anything from magazine ads and tri-fold brochures to large-format graphics for tradeshows and other in-person events. The incorporation of motion to digital designs is expected in order to enhance performance and engagement with creative. The majority of design work will be in support of local boat dealerships within the OneWater network, but will adjust, as needed, to changing business objectives.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Collaborate with Director of Creative Services, other Graphic Designers and Copywriters to design strategic, high-quality graphics solutions to business needs.
- Design digital graphics for websites, email, social, paid ads and more, incorporating motion to priority projects to elevate final deliverables.
- Design high-quality print graphics for a variety of solutions from magazine ads to large-format tradeshow graphics.
- Utilize web-based project management and communication tools to effectively work remotely, receiving assignments and submitting work for approval in a timely manner.
- Develop, maintain and implement brand standards for various dealer brands across the OneWater Marine network.
- Strategize new creative solutions for a variety of business needs, never settling with what’s been done before.
- Bring a passion to push boundaries. Stay in-tune with design and technology trends, experiment with and learn new skills to enhance creative output.
- Seek opportunities to continuously improve operational excellence – through efficiencies in workflow, technology, organization and communication.

Key Attributes:
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic; ability to work remotely and keep up with deadlines, communicate status updates regularly and provide timely responses during business hours.
- Must have current portfolio of design examples across multiple mediums
- Has a continuous learning and improvement mindset; develops and maintains a high level of creative industry knowledge
- B.A. or B.S. in a related field
- 5+ years of graphic design experience with print and digital capabilities
- Ambitious, highly skilled, and extremely organized designer
- Strong attention to detail, resulting in minimal errors and rework
- Highly skilled in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite – primarily InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience with animation/motion graphics is helpful
- Experience shooting and editing high-quality photos and videos is helpful
- Ability to write headlines and other calls to action on the fly is helpful
- Comfortable with fast-paced environments, quick timelines and changing priorities
- Experience with web-based project management and communication systems
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Experience in retail boating industry is helpful
Key Result Areas:
- Work will be evaluated against various metrics and feedback from both internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Quality: Evidence of high-quality design work will be demonstrated by minimal errors/rework and positive feedback from clients and stakeholders.
- Quantity: Workload volume will fluctuate throughout the year; Graphic Designer must be able to increase capacity accordingly. Completing assignments on or before deadlines will factor into degree of success on this metric.
- Communication: Working remotely as part of a team requires constant communication to ensure accountability, so over-communication is key.
- Service: Successfully partnering with internal and external clients and stakeholders to deliver projects that exceed expectations is critical. All factors above contribute to the success on this measure.
