Full Job DescriptionOur client, a Manufacturing / Retail company for retail luxury cosmetic brands, is currently seeking a Technical Illustrator/Pre-Press Technician to join their team Fulltime!This position is onsite 5 days per week in Melville, Long Island. Your hours will be 8:30-5:30PM. Must be able to commute to LI.Illustrator/Pre-Press Technician Responsibilities:- Prepress Preparation- Review and prepare digital files for printing, ensuring they meet all technical specifications- Adjust colors, fonts, and layout as necessary to ensure optimal print quality- Perform file conversions and preflight checks to identify and resolve any issues before printing- Manage and ensure color accuracy across different printing processes, utilizing color matching techniques to achieve consistent results- Collaborate with graphic designers, printers, and production teams to ensure seamless workflow and accurate output- Manage file storage and archiving according to company standards- Technical Illustration:- Create detailed technical illustrations for assembly instructions, product manuals, and other documentation.- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand visual content- Work closely with product engineers and designers to ensure illustrations accurately represent the product and its assembly process- Update and revise technical illustrations as needed, based on product changes or feedback- Color Matching and Quality Assurance:- Conduct thorough checks of all prepress files and technical illustrations to ensure accuracy and consistency- Utilize color matching skills to ensure printed materials align with brand colors and specifications, maintaining consistency across all products- Ensure that all printed materials and assembly instructions are error-free and meet company quality standardsProvide feedback and recommendations for improvements in both prepress processes and technical illustration practices- Collaboration and Communication- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to meet project deadlines- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to resolve any issues related to prepress, technical illustrations, or color accuracy- Participate in project meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and workflowsQualifications:- Minimum 3 years experience- Proven experience as a Prepress Technician, Technical Illustrator, or in a similar role- Proficiency in prepress software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and preflight tools- Strong technical illustration skills with experience in creating clear, detailed assembly instructions- Solid understanding of printing processes, color management, and file preparation for various printing methods- Advanced color matching skills, with experience in achieving and maintaining color consistency across different media- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously- Strong communication and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications:- Familiarity with 3D modeling software is a plus- Knowledge of display and production is advantageousSkills Required:- Adobe creative suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign- 3D software, 3D Studio Max with v-ray a plus- Experience working in the POP or manufacturing industry preferredIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
